The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society by enhancing the quality of life for all through empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India.

The Hans Foundation works on Health, Education, Livelihood, Disability and Disaster Relief interventions, in the rural and underdeveloped areas in the country. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India. THF has so far funded over 400 NGOs in 26 states and union territories in the past ten years benefitting more than 10 million poor in the country directly or indirectly.

OVERVIEW OF THE HANS RENAL CARE CENTER PROJECT

THF is running Hans Renal Centre Project since March 2022 in states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Under this project, THF has been allotted space by DoMH & FW by respective states in the Government Health facilities where the units have to be established. THF have made complete arrangements to make the dialysis facility operational including all required minor infrastructure/civil work (if any), HR (trained Nephrologists, Medical Officers, Nurses, and Technicians), dialyzer, tubing’s, essentials medications and all other consumables etc.

Dialysis unit comprises of following five major components:

• Dialysis Machines: 3-9 machine per Centre
• Hospital Furniture : Fully fowler bed, side stool, side table
• Water treatment plant: This plant is the backbone of Dialysis station. It softens water, filters carbon & chlorine followed by Reverse Osmosis and finally treated water passes through ultra violet line to kill bacteria before being connected to the main supply.
• Reprocessing unit for Dialyser / filter: Cleaning Room for cleaning filters /dialyzers. A reprocessing unit has been installed in the room of size 20*20 sq. feet.

OVERVIEW OF THE ASSESSMENT STUDY

THF is requesting for proposal to conduct a assessment for it Hans Renal Care Centres Project to understand the current of project and further enhance the quality of project based on the assessment findings.

The broad objectives of the Study are as follows:

• To determine the current status of the project in regard to quality of health services provided at the centres, Patient load , beneficiary satisfaction, Out of Pocket expenditure, quality of care etc and to generate recommendations for enhancement of service delivery.
• To set the benchmark for the infrastructure, equipment’s, services and human resource under the project as per the best practices industry standards.
• To establish the Standardized Grading System to assess the overall performance and develop M&E Plan for the periodic assessment of the facilities under the intervention.
