Introduction: Amnesty International Digital Forensics Fellowship 2025 With Stipend, this is an exciting opportunity launched by Amnesty Tech, a global network of advocates, hackers, researchers, and technologists.
This innovative fellowship invites 5–7 human rights defenders (HRDs), journalists, and technologists from civil society organizations worldwide to receive training at Amnesty Tech’s Security Lab. Fellows will gain expertise in combating advanced digital threats and mastering forensic investigation techniques.
The fellowship is part-time, lasting 3–4 months, and includes a stipend.

Expectations from the Participants (Amnesty International Digital Forensics Fellowship 2025 With Stipend)
- Participate in a week-long in-person gathering, where the majority of the training will be held, taking place in June 2025 (exact location to be confirmed soon).
- Outside of this convening, fellows are expected to dedicate 10–12 hours per month to the fellowship, including engaging in remote training sessions and completing independent work to further explore training topics.
- Throughout the program, fellows will actively engage with the cohort, the Security Lab, and participate in ad-hoc discussion groups during both in-person and remote training sessions.
Stipend Benefits (Amnesty International Digital Forensics Fellowship 2025 With Stipend)
- Selected applicants will receive a £500 per month stipend to support their time and participation in the fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria (Amnesty International Digital Forensics Fellowship 2025 With Stipend)
- A solid understanding of the technical threats, digital attacks, and challenges that journalists, HRDs, and civil society organizations face in their local contexts.
- Proven interest in conducting investigations to identify digital attacks against civil society, with the aim of enhancing resilience against surveillance post-fellowship.
- Basic proficiency with command-line tools and scripting languages like Bash and Python for data analysis.
- Knowledge of internet infrastructure, including the roles of IP addresses, TLS certificates, and DNS queries.
- Familiarity with GNU/Linux operating systems, as well as Android and iPhone platforms.
- Engagement with English as the primary language throughout the fellowship.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a record video interview week commencing 10th February, answering a series of pre-set questions via video, which allows us to learn more about you and your suitability for the Fellowship. Successful applicants from this process will be invited to a Microsoft Teams interview with the panel week commencing 3rd March.
