- Trisong Grant awards typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 USD, providing financial support for projects that promote mental well-being and embody Buddhist wisdom.
Who can apply? (Funds for Nonprofits by Khyentse Foundation Trisong Grant Program 2025)
We encourage applications that offer innovative, creative, and skillful solutions to sharing a Buddhist view of basic well-being. Most of our applications come from Buddhist practitioners or groups. Examples of applications that may be well-received include:
- A Buddhist center offering hospice service or training people in end-of-life care
- A project using art or performance therapy in a group setting
- Doing outreach and social work for people in need
- A Buddhist based recovery program
- A program to visit schools and talk to young people about managing their emotions in difficult times
- Developing a Buddhist chaplaincy curriculum
- A Buddhist center hosting an informal event for the local community
- A project to offer a group meditation program in a prison setting
- Starting a Buddhist based depression and anxiety support group
- Using pastoral counselling to help others through challenges
- A program Introducing families to meditation
We are interested in learning about how your work will help others, care for those in need, and share Buddha’s wisdom and values, with new people in contemporary ways.
Qualification (Funds for Nonprofits by Khyentse Foundation Trisong Grant Program 2025)
Your application will not be considered if:
- Your application is written by AI. If we suspect your answers are written by any AI program such as OpenAI or ChatGPT, your application will be rejected. A sincere application means more than a well-written one.
- Your application has no authentic connection to Buddhist view, study, or practice.
- You are requesting funds for a building and construction project.
- Your application does not adequately explain the budget and scope of the project.
- Your application is for a film project; we are not accepting proposals for film projects at this time.
- Your application is in a language other than English. At this time, we can only accept applications in English.
- You have already applied for a Trisong grant in this round.
Full funding of proposals is not always possible and partial funding may be offered to some applicants. KF can offer grants because of the generosity of our donors so please keep this in mind and request only what is needed for your project. Applicants will be notified of decisions approximately four months after the deadline.
