Introduction: Application Invited for Innovation and Knowledge Sharing for Global Goals on Adaptation through LLA in LDCs 2025, The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) is seeking proposals from qualified organizations in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), excluding Bangladesh, to undertake research focused on testing, piloting, or developing adaptation indicators for local climate adaptation projects. These projects should align with the respective country’s National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) or key national adaptation policies.
This initiative aims to showcase how Locally Led Adaptation (LLA) can play a vital role in implementing the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA) at the national level.

Specific objectives include:
- Testing/piloting/developing adaptation indicators: Assessing climate resilience and community leadership empowerment through analyzing locally implemented adaptation interventions and curating indicators simultaneously.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with local, national, and regional stakeholders to strengthen localization of climate adaptation strategies ensuring inclusivity.
- Knowledge Sharing & Policy Influence: Documenting and disseminating insights to inform adaptation policy arena and global discussions on GGA.

- Funding Available: Up to $15,000 (USD)
Project Duration: Up to 3 months (April – June 2025)

The support will cover costs such as:
- Consultancy and staff costs directly related to project implementation.
- Travel and fieldwork expenses for data collection and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge dissemination activities, including translation, publication, and outreach events.
- Any indirect cost relevant to the project execution.
Expected Outcomes (Application Invited for Innovation and Knowledge Sharing for Global Goals on Adaptation through LLA in LDCs 2025)
- Strengthened operationalization of the GGA through the use of LLA approaches and the development of complementary indicators reflecting the realities and priorities of vulnerable communities.
- Documentation of processes, methodologies, and outcomes of identified LLA initiatives to provide insights into challenges, best practices, innovative adaptation approaches, and their impacts on vulnerable communities and ecosystems.
- Collaboration and ownership at the grassroots level fostered through the engagement of local stakeholders, including communities, civil society organizations, and government representatives, in research and knowledge-sharing activities, incorporating their perspectives on locally led adaptation.
- Generation of knowledge and evidence through the development of knowledge products, including case studies, best practices, and innovative approaches, made accessible to a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and communities.
- Advocacy for the integration of LLA into global climate change negotiations, achieved through engagement with national delegates representing Bangladesh in international forums, presenting evidence from pilot projects, and influencing policy and decisionmaking processes.
- Promotion of locally led adaptation for LDCs through the expansion of the pilot work to other LDCs, bridging the gap between local-level evidence and global negotiations.

- Applications are open to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders based in LDCs (excluding Bangladesh) that have expertise in:
- Climate change adaptation, community-based adaptation, locally led adaptation, conservation, environment sector, mainly research expertise is noteworthy.
- Development and implementation of adaptation indicators or frameworks.
- Community engagement and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
- Knowledge dissemination and policy influence experience at the local and national level.
