There is a broad scope to this post within Sense International India. In line with Sense International India’s strategic plans and policy guidelines to work under the leadership of Master Specialist Programme, in planning, implementing and monitoring agreed objectives / issues with Sense International India partners. The person will participate and contribute to the development of wider institutional strategy.
It is anticipated and hoped that the nature of the post will change as the work continues to develop. Apart from the above roles, the post holder will have an opportunity to increase their skills and develop the job. This is very much a developmental job and the areas of responsibility will increase over a period of time.

- Ensuring proper management and effective utilization of human resources and finances by the partner organisations
- To undertake monitoring visits to partner organisations and evaluate the reasons of success and failure within projects, taking action to ensure that the overall programme learns from them.
- To develop an analysis of the context in which Sense International India implements its programme and develop/implement participatory approaches in programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Project management and development
- Manage relationship with Sense International India project partners through regular visits and undertake project appraisal, monitoring, evaluation and ensure minimum organisational programme management standards.
- Provide support for partners in preparation and development of programme reports and budgetary progress reports in compliance with Sense International India
- Prepare, monitor and analyse project reports and budgets
- Visit partner organisations to review project progress and advice partners on programme management and compliance with Sense International India objectives
Programme Development
- Support in capacity building need assessment, planning, organising and facilitating trainings and workshops for partners
- Support in reporting and documentation of programme activities to various audiences including donors
- Support in logistic arrangement during training’s and workshops
- Work closely with the team on areas of relevance
- Work closely on project proposals to be submitted to donor agencies
- Capacity Building of Partners
- Support Manager-Programmes in organisational assessment and capacity building plans
- Work closely with project partners to support them in taking greater responsibility of deafblind work in their regions
- Other Requirements:
- Feedback partner assessment reports into overall Sense International India strategies ? Regular correspondence with partners and maintain updated records and files.
- Assisting Manager – Programmes and other team members in any other way which leads to fulfilment of the overall objectives of Sense International India.
- Need based support to other teams within the organisation viz. FR, Communication, Finance and Resource and Information Unit.
- Attend meetings and be involved in other activities at irregular hours as required
- Any other work as agreed with the line manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential requirements (NGO Job Opportunity in Ahmedabad Bengaluru Delhi for Senior Specialist Programme Last Date 10 August 2025)
Ideally you will be a Post Graduate in social sciences/ management/ disability studies with a skill to work in the development sector
Experience in implementation/management of development programmes, preferably in disability field
Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
Knowledge of models towards sustainable programmes and networking (including participatory methodologies).
Demonstrated ability to plan projects, understand budgets, and implement time bound activities.
You will be fluent in English and Hindi with good communication skills. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
You will have basic knowledge to operate computer and Microsoft Office software.
You will be willing to travel all over India
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a member of a team
Organisational skills, initiative, enthusiasm
Desirable requirements
Familiar with disability related programmes
Understanding of development issues
Ability to build support from staff across teams, and to build the capacity of others
Able to facilitate groups.
Good personal presentation.
Personal commitment to improving one’s own knowledge and skills.
