Scheduled to run from September 2025 to February 2026, the plan also involves recruiting a dedicated coordination team, which will be transitioned to CONANI by March 2026, in accordance with national administrative procedures. A detailed work plan for this phase will be drafted and approved, ensuring both clarity and accountability.
The second expected outcome emphasizes expanding the framework’s impact through the development of sector-specific operational plans. These will guarantee that the priorities identified in the strategic framework are translated into action across relevant stakeholders. To support this, a monitoring and evaluation framework will be established, offering a systematic way to track progress and secure long-term sustainability. The program will also generate a final report, consolidating key lessons, challenges, and recommendations to further reinforce the child protection system.
With this initiative, UNICEF aims to build a stronger and more coordinated child protection system in the Dominican Republic, ensuring greater safety and security for children and adolescents against violence. By integrating practical planning, cross-sector collaboration, and robust evaluation mechanisms, the program aspires to drive sustainable systemic change that strengthens institutions and directly benefits communities.
