Call for Applications Go Wild Grants Program Canada 2025, Imagine walking through your campus and finding a pollinator garden buzzing with life, a creek restored to its natural rhythm, or students planting trees that will one day shelter both people and wildlife. These are not distant dreams — they are the kinds of projects the (WWF) is making possible through its Go Wild Grants Program.
The program is designed to do more than fund conservation. It invites students and educators to rediscover the story of their local ecosystems — to understand the history of the land, celebrate its biodiversity, and learn what it needs to flourish. From there, it challenges communities to take action: to plant native seeds, to restore forests, to protect habitats that nurture life, and to engage not just the campus but the wider community in creating lasting impact.
Each institution has the chance to receive up to $2,000 to bring these ideas to life between January and October 2026. The projects are practical, hands-on, and deeply rooted in the place where they grow. In the past, campuses have transformed spaces into pollinator gardens, established seed orchards, cultivated culturally significant plants, monitored wildlife, and even mapped biodiversity across their landscapes.
The Go Wild Grants are, in essence, an invitation: to roll up your sleeves, to step outside the classroom, and to take part in the living story of your environment. It’s about ensuring that when we look at our campuses, we don’t just see buildings and pathways — we see ecosystems thriving, communities connected, and futures being rewilded, one project at a time.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full details and submit their applications before the specified deadline to seize this grant opportunity.
Last Date of Submission: 24th October 2025
Grant Overview
(Call for Applications Go Wild Grants Program Canada 2025)
Go Wild Grants are designed to help students and educators protect and restore habitat on school and campus grounds, for the benefit of wildlife and people. Previous grantees have created native pollinator gardens and seed orchards, restored creeks and forests, monitored local wildlife, conducted biodiversity inventories, raised awareness about conservation issues, and more!
We prioritize ideas that help school communities:
- Learn about the local ecosystem including its history, its biodiversity and what it needs to thrive
- Take action for nature by creating, restoring or protecting habitat with native seeds, plants and trees
- Connect with your surrounding community to create lasting impact
Eligibility Criteria
(Call for Applications Go Wild Grants Program Canada 2025)
The Go Wild Grants Program is open to a wide circle of changemakers within the campus community. Eligible applicants range from individual students who are of majority age, to officially recognized student clubs and associations, as well as faculty, staff, and even campus offices.
There’s just one key requirement: every project must be rooted in the campus itself — unless it forms a direct part of academic coursework guided by faculty or staff. And to ensure timely impact, all initiatives must be completed by October 31, 2026.
