Overview of the project
(Call for Expression of Interest Provide life-saving nutrition assistance to crisis-affected people Ethiopia 2025)
This Call for Expression of Interest by the World Food Programme (WFP) aims to tackle the urgent food and nutrition needs of displaced and food-insecure populations, especially those residing in refugee camps across Ethiopia. The initiative prioritizes equitable access to nutritious food before, during, and after crises—ensuring that affected individuals, particularly children and adolescents, can lead healthier, more dignified lives.
WFP’s strategy extends beyond emergency food relief, integrating nutrition, education, and health components for holistic impact. Under this program, refugee children will receive safe and nutritious school meals that not only improve their enrolment, attendance, and learning outcomes but also contribute to their overall well-being. Meanwhile, families will benefit from nutrition-sensitive resource transfers aimed at fulfilling essential needs and expanding access to livelihood opportunities.
The initiative also focuses on strengthening collaboration with local and national government bodies, helping them enhance the quality of services delivered to both refugees and host communities. By improving coordination across multiple sectors, WFP seeks to promote social cohesion, reduce inequalities, and support long-term stability.
This opportunity underscores WFP’s ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity, malnutrition, and educational challenges among Ethiopia’s most vulnerable populations. Interested organizations are invited to partner in this critical effort to build community resilience and contribute to a sustainable recovery pathway for those affected by crisis.
