Applications are now open for the LAMP Fellowship 2026-27, The Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship is a distinctive and enriching opportunity for young Indians interested in law-making and public policy. Under this programme, LAMP Fellows are guided by a Member of Parliament (MP) and work full-time alongside their assigned MP for one year, beginning with the Monsoon Session of Parliament and continuing through to the end of the Budget Session.
The core responsibility of a LAMP Fellow is to provide in-depth research and policy support to the MP in parliamentary work. This includes drafting parliamentary questions, preparing speeches for Zero Hour debates, assisting in raising matters of public importance, and working on private members’ bills, among other legislative tasks.
During periods when Parliament is not in session, fellows interact with policymakers, experts from leading think tanks, academicians from reputed universities, and professionals from various public policy institutions through structured workshops on key policy and development issues. In addition, LAMP Fellows take part in field visits during inter-session periods, gaining valuable on-ground exposure to governance and public administration.
