The Greenovation Agrivoltaics Challenge focuses on building evidence and demonstrating how agrivoltaic models can benefit Indian farmers by combining sustainable farming practices with solar power generation.
Agrivoltaics, which involves cultivating crops beneath or alongside solar panels, has the potential to enhance land efficiency, lower water consumption, and create additional income streams for farmers.

Selected participants will receive comprehensive support to advance their agrivoltaic initiatives
Win up to ₹5 lakh
Financial support to establish and demonstrate viable agrivoltaic models, and also access to a larger pool of ₹2 crore in grants for implementation and scaling.
Virtual Training & Capacity Building
- Comprehensive training programs to build expertise in agrivoltaic technologies and practices
Technical Support
- Expert guidance for system design, crop selection, and optimization strategies
Networking & Collaboration
- Connect with peers, experts, and stakeholders in the agrivoltaics ecosystem
Demonstration Systems
- Support to set up micro-demonstration systems across priority states
Evidence Generation
- Contribute to building a body of evidence for scalable agrivoltaic approaches

TRACK 1: Farmer Groups
For farmer-led organizations working directly with agricultural communities
Eligible Entities:
- Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
- Farmer Cooperatives
- Registered Societies and NGOs
- Working with farmers
Key Requirements:
- Team lead must be a practicing farmer
- Plans for growing crops under solar structures
- Innovation in cropping patterns or business models

- Focus on affordability for smallholder adoption
- Financing models for small and marginal farmers
