About the Position:
Job Description: City Coordinator – Residential Care
The City Coordinator (Residential Care) will be responsible for overseeing & ensuring the quality of the Rainbow Homes residential care program in Child Care Institutes (CCIs).

- Support the process of Annual planning of the homes & hostel programs & finalisation in the city/cities.
- Ensure that the partners & the direct program reach out to the targeted numbers as per the agreed plans
- Make periodic visits to the homes and hostels to oversee & support the quality of the program and processes
- Organise periodic activity planning and review meetings with the home/hostel teams to discuss & support the quality of the program
- Support and establish systems to improve the quality of education in the homes/hostels
- Conduct special reviews and orientations on the nutrition aspects and ensure the quality of nutritious food served in the homes & hostels
- Assess the volunteering needs of the Residential care program in their respective city/cities and identify & establish linkages with the suitable volunteers/volunteering organisations to achieve the program activities and outcomes
- Ensuring that the Child Protection Policy of the Rainbow Homes program for the residential care is implemented in its true spirit in the residential program
- Report and inform the National Program team (RHPCC) immediately about any emergency situation in the home/child related or the violations of the Child Protection Policies
- Conduct capacity needs assessment of the home level functionaries and support in designing capacity building programs
- Take up & arrange the relevant capacity building programs with the home teams on the care aspects of the Rainbow Homes program
- Represent Rainbow Homes program in the city level networks & forums that work on the Residential care program
- Establish good linkages with the relevant government departments such Women & Child welfare, DCPU, CWC, Social Welfare, Education & SSA, etc.
- Guide, Support and ensure that the partner & direct homes have been registered under JJ Act wherever it is applicable
- Support to the homes in following the legal compliances of the JJ Act and other legal aspects such as POCSO, Child marriage Act, etc.
- Support and guidance to the residential teams on updating of the MIS and Rainbow Online Reporting (ROR) and also Ensure that the relevant physical registers as per the requirements of the statutory compliances and the Rainbow Homes program at the residential care program are done qualitatively & timely
- Support, generate and draft the reports such as Newsletter, case stories, grant reports, etc of the residential care program
- Identify best practices in the city with regard to the quality aspects of the residential care program such as Education, Health, Nutrition, Shelter, etc and organise exposure visits & sharing meetings with the teams
- Conduct the program monitoring process & prepare the reports as per the monitoring tools of the Rainbow Homes Program
- Plan for capacity development of partners/home teams in taking up Child Participatory monitoring and Track implementation of Child Participatory monitoring programs at the home level
- Participate in all the training, program planning & review & other meetings organised by the Rainbow Homes program
- Coordinate with the other Coordinators at City Desk for various interlinked programs such as city-level thematic meetings, stakeholder meetings, workshops with the children, etc.
- Coordinate with the other Units at the national level as and when required keeping the Sr. manager in the loop and in consultation.
- Support & attend the donors and other visitors to the program in coordination with the National program team
- Support in providing data and information for making proposals for the resource mobilisation for the planned programs
- Any other task and responsibility assigned by the Rainbow Homes Program – National secretariat/the reporting manager from time to time for the program purposes
- Be available at any time in the situations of any emergency calls/situation to support the home teams
Qualification and expected skills:
- Should be a Post Graduate in Social work
- Should at least 4-5 years of experience in social development preferable in direct experience in program planning, implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation of programs
- Thorough understanding on Child Rights & Child Protection Issues including the issues of residential care and children on the streets
- Familiarity of working with the Government systems & experiencing managing NGO partnerships/ programs
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently & managing emergency situations
- Language proficiency in English and Telugu for Hyderabad location is essential.
Salary: The Salary package would be Rs. 45,000/- per month commensurate with experience.
