Legal Support Officer – POCSO & Child Trafficking Case Support

Location: Nawada District, Bihar

Salary: ?30,000 per month + ?3,000 travel allowance

About the Role

Neha Gramin Mahila Vikas Samiti (NGMVS) is inviting applications for the position of Legal Support Officer to strengthen its child protection programme in Nawada district. The selected candidate will provide legal and field-level case management support for POCSO and child trafficking cases, ensuring access to justice, rehabilitation and compensation for child survivors and their families.

Key Responsibilities for NGO Job in Nawada Bihar for Legal Support Officer Apply By 1 February 2026

  • Track and manage POCSO and child trafficking cases
  • Support filing and follow-up of interim compensation applications under government schemes
  • Coordinate with CWC, DLSA, Police, Judiciary, and survivor families
  • Provide legal counselling and guidance to survivors and guardians
  • Assist in court hearings and legal follow-ups
  • Draft legal applications and maintain proper case documentation
  • Prepare monthly case progress reports
  • Conduct home visits and field coordination within Nawada district
  • Respond promptly to new child protection cases reported to the organization
  • Maintain digital and physical legal case files
Eligibility Criteria
  • Master’s degree preferred / Minimum Graduation mandatory
  • Educational background in Psychology, Social Work, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Sociology, or related fields
  • 4–5 years of experience in child protection and child rights sector
  • Practical working knowledge of POCSO Act, JJ Act, CrPC, and anti-trafficking laws
  • Strong legal drafting, coordination and communication skills
  • Must own a two-wheeler and be willing to travel extensively
  • Female candidates with relevant experience will be preferred
  • Must be based in or able to regularly travel within Nawada district
Remuneration
  • ?30,000 per month (fixed)
  • ?3,000 monthly travel allowance
  • Accommodation and other benefits will be not provided .
