Programme Overview for Proposals Invited from women researchers in India and Germany to foster innovation in the field of STEM 2026 Offered by Indo German Science & Technology Centre

Under this scheme, women researchers or entrepreneurs who hold a regular position and have at least five years of experience in academic institutions, research organisations, or industry in India and Germany are invited to submit joint proposals in paired mode across any field of STEM.

Each collaborating pair will consist of two women Principal Investigators (PIs)—one based in India and the other in Germany—who will jointly submit a proposal to receive support under the WISER programme.

The grant duration will be up to three years (24–36 months). Funding will cover essential project requirements along with travel-related expenses. The grant also provides support for one visit per year to the partner’s country, allowing each PI to stay for up to one month.

Applicants are responsible for identifying and forming their own collaboration pairs. To assist with this, IGSTC provides a matchmaking platform that enables potential applicants from India and Germany to connect, discuss research ideas, and explore project collaborations. This 1:1 networking tool helps facilitate introductions and partnerships.
