- Graduate preferably with a B.A. in Social Work, Sociology, Social Sciences, or LLB from a recognized university; OR a Master’s/PG degree in Social Service or Rural Development.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with1Government/NGO/Legal matters, preferably in the field of Women and Child Rights.
- Strong understanding of Women and Child Rights and protection issues (additional weightage for experienced candidates).
- Proficiency in computer operations and MS Office
Job description for NGO Job in Jharkhand for Child Welfare Officer Apply By 20 March 2026
- Child Case Management
- Conduct individual assessments of children placed in Child Care Institutions (CCI) or identified in the community.
- Prepare Individual Care Plans (ICP) in consultation with the child and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor progress of each child and update case files regularly.
- Ensure that all interventions align with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
- Counselling & Support
- Provide basic counselling and emotional support to children.
- Identify psychosocial needs and refer children to specialized counsellors when required.
- Facilitate life-skill development and child-friendly activities.
- Family & Community Reintegration
- Conduct home visits and family assessments.
- Support restoration, foster care, sponsorship, or adoption processes as applicable.
- Engage with families to prepare them for child reintegration and follow up post-restoration.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed case files, assessment reports, progress notes, and ICP documents.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by the DCPU or CCI.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
