The main role of the Director Fundraising is to develop, coordinate and take full ownership of the implementation of a fundraising strategy for MSF South Asia, with special focus on MSF India.

General Objectives for NGO Job in Karnataka and Delhi for Director Fundraising Apply By 7 April 2026

Manage the implementation of the fundraising strategy of MSF-India, through the recruitment and management of the team, in order to maximize the contribution of continuous resources to the MSF Movement.

Plan, implement and optimize the return on investment of the fundraising actions, ensuring the sustainability in the long term, diversifying the channels and adapting them to the Indian society profile.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES for NGO Job in Karnataka and Delhi for Director Fundraising Apply By 7 April 2026

Responsible for the steering, management and implementation of the Fundraising function and contribution to the overall performance of MSF South Asia with a focus on entities in India.

The Director Fundraising heads the Fundraising department of the MSF South Asia

The Fundraising Director will also be responsible for creating and managing budgets, tracking fundraising progress, and reporting on results to senior leadership.

Actively develop all the fundraising (FR) verticals for resource mobilization, including: F2F fundraising (individual private donors), Outreach, Major Donors, HNIs (High Net Worth Individuals), Diaspora, Corporate Donors (including Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) giving, Foundations and Philanthropists, Events & other FR platforms and retail fundraising agencies.

Manage relationship with key philanthropists such as people from the Forbes list and International Foundations.

Development and improvement of an effective and efficient Fundraising back-office infrastructure including new CRM.

Applies data-driven decision frameworks to guide investment decisions, resource allocation and channel optimization, balancing short-term income goals with long-term donor value and sustainability.

Leads, motivates and develops a diverse team, fostering a culture of resilience, accountability and collaboration to ensure high performance under demanding and time-sensitive fundraising conditions.

Development and implementation of required policies and procedures for the Fundraising functions of the MSF India.

Selecting, on boarding and maintaining third-party Fund-Raising agencies in collaboration with Finance Department. This also includes holding CXO level relationships with the heads/founders of these agencies.

Safeguard the ethical standards and principles of MSF within the fundraising activities. Demonstrated behavioral leadership is important.

Responsible for implementation and monitoring of a multi-year strategic plan, its translation in annual plans and budgets

Develops and proposes annually approved yearly strategic objectives and plans for the Fundraising function of MSF South Asia, as well as their long-term strategic plan (linked to SPARC agreements).

Responsible for identifying opportunities in MSF South Asia other than India and develop a Fundraising Strategy and roadmap.

Conducts structured risk assessments across key components of the fundraising ecosystem—including agency partnerships, market expansion and donor exposure—and leads the implementation of mitigation measures.

Responsible for the coherence and alignment between the Fundraising function of MSF South Asia and the Fundraising functions within the OCA group and/or the MSF movement.

Implements, monitors and respects the monthly and yearly planning and budget.

Reporting as per Control Cycle

Investigate and develop best practices to enable MSF in India to lead and innovate within the fundraising market and to maximize long-term income.

Coordination of the development of donor reports and other reports as required.

Responsible for the internal and external representation of MSF South Asia, related to Fund Raising activities.

Builds and maintains active working relationships with other MSF sections and missions both inside and outside related only to Fund Raising activities.

Represents MSF India in relevant MSF internal meetings related to Fund Raising (participation in DirFund and other relevant MSF OCA and MSF international platforms)

Represent MSF in India at various fundraising events and conferences.

Establish and maintain external relationships with potential and active donors, fundraisers networks (including CSR) in India and South Asia and local partners and FR vendors.

Management Team

As a member of the Management Team of MSF South Asia, actively participate in planning, implementation and management of MSF South Asia’s Strategic Plan and other relevant dossiers.

Fund Raising value target (as stated in FR business plan).

Qualitative dimensions like Regular Donor numbers, one time donor numbers, number of donors retained, number of new donors, number of donors lost, outreach to new markets, regions, organizations, corporates, foundations, major donors, etc.

Team retention, stability of team, control on attrition. Should be a resilient leader with the ability to inclusively develop the team and work passionately to raise funds for social causes.

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

Master degree in marketing and/or equivalent in an associated field from a reputed institute

Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)

Approx. 10-15 years’ working experience, preferably internationally, in marketing and fundraising/income generation with proven track record.

Extensive managerial experience (approx. 5 years in a senior position) and understanding of organizational issues and (team) dynamics.

We offer:

Contract duration is three years with a possibility of one contract period extension of 3 years. The maximum Term of this position is Six Years.

Compensation gross per month range USD 3423 to USD 4881. 13th Month bonus additional.

Medical: MSF provides medical reimbursement for employees and their dependents as per MSF South Asia health care policy.
