By the conclusion of the V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Program, participants are expected to play an active role in mobilizing financial resources for their countries’ Climate Prosperity Plans. Fellows will develop the expertise to understand the global financial system, identify opportunities that promote climate-resilient development, and contribute to policy discussions focused on reforming the international financial architecture.

The program also prepares Fellows to engage effectively with international financing mechanisms, including debt reform initiatives, climate finance, carbon markets, and strategies for integrating climate risks into financial decision-making. In addition, participants will strengthen their communication skills to advocate for the priorities of climate-vulnerable nations and support the design and implementation of national Climate Prosperity Plans.

Open Call for The V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Program 2026-2027 Target Outcome

The fellowship aims to strengthen the capacity of finance ministries (or equivalent institutions) from 16 to 20 CVF-V20 member countries. Through technical training and peer-to-peer learning, participants will gain the knowledge and practical skills required to secure financial resources and advance ambitious climate prosperity strategies that support sustainable development and meaningful climate action.

Throughout the one-year fellowship, selected participants will take part in a range of learning and networking opportunities, including:

  • Online classes, webinars, seminars, and interactive workshops.
  • Two one-week in-person residency programs scheduled for January 2027 and October 2027.
  • Participation in selected meetings and events facilitated by the CVF-V20.
  • Interactive sessions with representatives from International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and partner organizations.

Open Call for The V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Program 2026-2027 Eligibility and Conditions of Participation

Officials from the Ministries of Finance (or equivalent institutions) in CVF-V20 member countries are invited to apply for the 2026–2027 V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Program. Applicants must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a citizen of a CVF-V20 member country.
  • Have 5–10 years of professional experience at the mid- or senior-level in international affairs, public policy, development, climate change, environmental policy, or sustainable development.
  • Be committed to participating in all fellowship activities, including virtual sessions, in-person residencies, and required assignments.
  • Be willing to travel internationally to attend training sessions and cohort meetings.
  • Attend the fellowship’s scheduled weekly online sessions throughout the program.
  • Share acquired knowledge with their respective governments and national stakeholders after completing the fellowship.

Those selected for this specialization will participate in an additional weekly training session.
