How to apply?
Eligibility Criteria
Students enrolled in recognized universities or institutions in India or abroad can apply for the internship, provided they meet the following criteria:
- Undergraduate students: Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the 2nd year/4th semester of their bachelor’s degree program and should have secured at least 85% marks (or equivalent) in Class 12.
- Postgraduate/Research students: Those who have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the 1st year/2nd semester of their postgraduate course, or are pursuing research/Ph.D., with a minimum of 70% marks (or equivalent) in graduation.
- Fresh graduates/postgraduates: Candidates who have appeared in their final exams or recently completed graduation/post-graduation and are awaiting admission to higher studies may also be considered, provided they have maintained a minimum of 70% aggregate marks throughout.
- Result-to-internship gap: The time between the announcement of final exam results and the commencement of the internship must not exceed six months. For instance, if results are declared in June, the applicant should start the internship no later than December.
Application Process
- Interested candidates must submit their applications online only through the official NITI Aayog website by 10th September 2025.
- Applications may be submitted no earlier than six months in advance and no later than two months before the intended month of internship.
- Applicants are required to specify their area of interest while applying.
- Important: Each candidate is allowed to apply for the internship only once in a financial year.
- Upon selection, candidates must present their original mark sheets and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their college/institution at the time of joining (as per the format provided in Annexure ‘C’ of the official notification). Failure to do so will result in cancellation of candidature.
