Funding Information (2025 LCRF Leading Edge Research Grant Program)
These grants offer up to $150,000 in funding, distributed over a two-year period. Eligible applicants must be associated with a non-profit academic or research institution and fall into one of the following categories: post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or early- to mid-career investigators who have fewer than ten years of experience since their first faculty appointment.
Eligibility Criteria (2025 LCRF Leading Edge Research Grant Program)
Eligible applicants must be affiliated with a nonprofit academic or research institution and should be post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or investigators in the early or mid stages of their careers, with less than ten years of experience since their initial faculty appointment. Both U.S.-based and international candidates are welcome to apply, regardless of their residency or citizenship status.
Applicants who have received funding from the LCRF in the past four years or those attempting to apply to multiple LCRF funding tracks in the same cycle are not eligible. Senior investigators with over ten years of experience since their faculty appointment are typically excluded from eligibility but are encouraged to mentor junior team members during the application process. Exceptions may be granted for those with more than ten years of experience in other research areas or special circumstances. Investigators who believe they qualify for such exceptions must contact the LCRF grants office at least one week prior to the submission deadline to request a review. Please note that late requests and ineligible applications will not be considered after the submission deadline.
How to Apply?
- Applications will be submitted through a two-step process consisting of a Letter of Intent (LOI) and full proposal. Applicants whose LOI submission is reviewed favorably will be invited to complete a full proposal. Applicants may only apply for one LCRF grant per grant cycle.
