Application is now open for MIT 2025-2026 Water Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize, 11th Annual Water, Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize Offering over $50,000 in prize funding, access to influential industry leaders, and exceptional networking opportunities, the MIT Water, Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize supports early-stage, student-led startups across the United States. Each year, the competition awards $50K+ in innovation grants to ventures shaping the future of sustainable solutions in water, food, and agriculture. Since its launch in 2015, the program has distributed $300,000 to 30 winning teams.

Organized by the MIT Water Club and the MIT Food & Agriculture Club, this flagship innovation event empowers emerging entrepreneurs to turn research and ideas into viable businesses. Participants gain access to mentoring, industry resources, and strong networks within the water, food, and agricultural sectors. The prize welcomes a wide range of innovative approaches—from engineering and product design to policy, research, and data-driven solutions.

  • At least one leader of the startup team must be a U.S.-based student.
  • The startup team must have received less than $100,000 in funding before applying to the Prize.

This application indicates your team’s request to compete in the 2025-2026 MIT Water, Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize. Note that submitting this form does NOT guarantee entry into the competition. The Water, Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize team will notify you if you are approved to participate. Participants will prepare a business plan and final presentation, culminating in a Final Pitch Night to a panel of judges on . At least one student team member MUST be available to pitch in the Final Pitch Night. The winners of the MIT Water, Food & Agriculture Innovation Prize will be awarded innovation grants of up to $50,000.
