We offer invitation-only international grants to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations working in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our funding focuses on initiatives that promote food security, economic sustainability, education, and community-driven development—efforts that build durable local capacity and empower communities to thrive.

LASC directs its funding toward two primary regions:
- International initiatives, with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean
- The Greater Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri area, supporting local community development
Eligibility Criteria and Other details for International initiatives
International proposals must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility Requirements
- The recipient organization* must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity as defined by the IRS.
- Projects must take place in one of the following countries: Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, El Salvador, or Nicaragua.
- Applicants must have staff and/or in-country partners and must demonstrate meaningful local community involvement in project design and implementation.
- Proposed initiatives must align with one of LASC’s core Focus Areas:
• Food Support, Security & Sustainability – including emergency feeding and starvation relief; subsistence or backyard farming; soil improvement; and sustainable or regenerative food initiatives (e.g., aquaculture, greenhouse production, beekeeping, fruit tree planting, baking programs).
• Social Entrepreneurship & Microdevelopment – community-based, food-related efforts that reduce poverty, build income, expand skills, provide training, and generate economic opportunities at the individual, family, and community levels.
• Poverty Relief – programs that help individuals and communities progress toward self-determination and an improved standard of living, such as clean water access, sanitation improvements, housing development, and animal husbandry. - Participation is by personal invitation from LASC.
*LASC does not fund schools, churches, healthcare entities or initiatives, governments or government agencies, for-profit organizations, individuals, or any organization that is not a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity.

- LASC accepts applications for program, operational, or capacity-building
