Expected Outcomes
(Apply for Grant Opportunity 2025 for Centre of Excellence for Prevention and Care for Wasted Children Indonesia)
The project is expected to produce two key outcomes.
- First, local and provincial governments will be better equipped to detect and treat child wasting. This will be achieved through extensive training for Posyandu cadres, webinars on nutrition for various stakeholders, and support for identifying local causes of malnutrition. Innovative practices such as family-led MUAC and ECD-based screening will be introduced. University students will also support community-based services through mentorship programs, helping with measurements, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Second, the project aims to strengthen local governance around nutrition. This includes field data collection and analysis of budget effectiveness, consultations with stakeholders, and dissemination of findings to guide future spending. The initiative will also promote cross-learning between districts and create partnerships with local universities to enhance focus on nutrition and child wasting.
Proposals will be evaluated based on clarity of activities and expected results, cost-effectiveness, previous experience working with the UN, innovative approaches, local presence, and project management capabilities.
