Introduction: Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025, Auckland Council is currently inviting applications for the Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme, aimed at supporting projects, initiatives, and services that contribute to the well-being of Aucklanders. Eligible individuals and organizations are encouraged to review the complete program details and submit their applications before the deadline on March 7, 2025.

 

 

Last Date of Submission: 7th March 2025

Grant Range: From $3000 – $80000

 

Priorities (Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025)

  • They welcome grant applications that align with the following priorities:
  • Support local initiatives that celebrate Māori identity and culture and Te Reo Māori.
  • The history, identity and character of the neighbourhoods are celebrated.
  • Communities of greatest need are a focus of support.
  • People live low carbon lives and know how to take climate action.
  • The parks and open space meet the needs of the changing and growing population.
  • Transition the services and facilities to meet the needs of the changing community.
  • Resilient communities who have strong local connections, support each other, and can tackle challenges together.
  • They celebrate and value diversity, making sure everyone is included.
  • The natural environment is cared for and valued.
  • Town centres are hubs of business and social life

 

Higher Priorities (Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025)

  • Projects and activities that support mental health, physical health and wellbeing and promote smoke-free and healthy housing programmes.
  • Projects and activities that promote sustainability, zero-waste and low-carbon messages.
  • Match funding
  • Applicants who have considered other sources of funding for their project.
  • Projects that are inclusive and support under-represented members of the community.
  • Projects/activities with Māori outcomes.

 

Lower Priorties (Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025)

The organization will also  consider applications for other services, projects and initiatives; however, they may be considered a lower priority. They have identified the following activities as lower priorities:

  • commercial entities and promotion of commercial entities
  • ticketed events which have an entry fee
  • activities that primarily benefit communities outside the Albert-Eden Local Board area
  • activities that primarily benefit a third party (e.g., activity to gain money for an organisation)
  • grants to support the purchase of, or maintenance associated with, motor vehicles
  • wages or operational costs

Eligibility Criteria (Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025)
  • community organisations with a formal legal structure
  • groups or individuals with no formal legal structure can apply for up to $1,000 (Kaipatiki Local Board will not fund individuals)
  • applicants seeking funding over $1,000 will need to nominate an umbrella organisation or
  • Can apply, be accepted and be reimbursed after the project is completed.

 

Ineligibility Criteria (Apply for Grants Albert-Eden Local Grant Programme 2025)
 
  • Political parties
  • Internal applicants (i.e. to fund projects, programmes or facilities run by Auckland Council or its employees)
  • Auckland Council CCOs (council-controlled organisations), including facilities owned and operated by Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA)
  • Organisations receiving statutory funding from council via compulsory annual levies, under the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Act (ARAFA) or comparable legislation
  • Other local authorities, government agencies or public sector entities
