The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) invites proposals in the following thematic areas, aligned with the objectives defined in the BTF’s Royal Charter, the priorities of the Royal Government of Bhutan’s (RGoB) 13th Five Year Plan, and the inputs received during the stakeholder consultation:
- Thematic Area I – Preserving Biological Diversity
- Thematic Area II – Enabling Human-Wildlife Coexistence
- Thematic Area III – Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change
- Thematic Area IV – Addressing Adverse Impacts of Development on the Environment
The project proposal should align with the above thematic areas and, where relevant, address aspects of gender equality as well as social and environmental safeguards.
How to apply?

Agencies outside the RGoB- the duly filled project concept note (available for download on website) should be submitted in hard/soft copy to the office of BTF or via email as a single PDF document to Ms. Phuntsho Choden at phuntsho@bhutantrustfund.bt, no later than 11th September 2025, before 5:00 PM.
Agencies under the RGoB- should route their proposals from their parent central agency (where applicable), through the Department of Marco-Fiscal and Development Finance, Ministry of Finance. The duly filled project concept (available for download on website) should be submitted either in hard/soft copy to the office of BTF or via email as a single PDF document to Ms. Phuntsho Choden at phuntsho@bhutantrustfund.bt, no later than 11th September 2025, before 5:00 PM.
