The Rowell Fund was established in memory of Galen and Barbara Rowell, passionate advocates for the Tibetan cause and celebrated contributors to the fields of photography, environmental conservation, and storytelling. The couple collaborated with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on My Tibet, a landmark publication showcasing the natural beauty of Tibet and raising awareness of its environmental and cultural threats.

Following their untimely passing, the Rowell Fund was created by the ICT Board of Directors in partnership with the Rowells’ family and friends to continue their legacy. The fund supports Tibetans working on projects that reflect the Rowells’ deep commitment to Tibetan culture, environment, and empowerment.
