Call for Expression of Interest Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship Program in Uttar Pradesh India Funded by UNICEF: Funding Information, Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process Explained

Call for Expression of Interest Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship Program in Uttar Pradesh India Funded by UNICEF

Call for Expression of Interest Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship Program in Uttar Pradesh India Funded by UNICEF, Agriculture continues to be the main source of livelihood for rural youth in Uttar Pradesh, but increasing climate-related challenges—such as unpredictable monsoons, frequent heatwaves, water shortages, and recurring crop failures—are steadily eroding farm productivity and income stability. The state’s predominantly smallholder farmers encounter major obstacles in adopting climate-smart agricultural practices, including poor access to quality inputs, limited and unreliable advisory services, and the lack of affordable protected cultivation solutions.

At the same time, rural youth are grappling with unemployment and migration pressures, with few viable avenues to establish sustainable agricultural enterprises. While several initiatives focus on skill training, most fall short of offering long-term income generation, mentorship, or enterprise-level support. A viable and proven pathway lies in promoting youth-led agri-entrepreneurship based on climate-resilient technologies. In this context, UNICEF, in partnership with technical organizations, seeks to create a transformative platform to develop a new generation of youth agri-entrepreneurs who can scale climate-resilient farming practices while securing stable livelihoods for themselves and strengthening their local communities.

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full details and submit their applications before the specified deadline to seize this grant opportunity.
