Grant Application Invited Third Call of the Regional Fund for womens and feminist civil society organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean, The Regional Fund in Support of Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements (Fondo Regional) is issuing the third call for grant applications for women’s and feminist civil society organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Regional Fund is a joint initiative of the governments and civil society organizations participating in the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean1 , which aims to strengthen women’s and feminist organizations and movements, and their work in coordination with Mechanisms for the Advancement of Women, with the purpose of reducing gender inequalities, strengthening democracy, institutional development, and the formulation and implementation of public policies for equality, through the availability of resources, with the ultimate goal of achieving equality between women and men and the full realization of women’s human rights in the region. The Regional Fund arises within the framework of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, a subsidiary body of ECLAC, which since 2020 has been organized in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). Proposals must be submitted by non-governmental organizations with a presence in at least one country in Latin America and the Caribbean and must be oriented toward a strategy to strengthen organizational and management capacities to promote gender-responsive environmental and/or climate actions, or actions to prevent and respond to violence against women, in line with the Regional Gender Agenda agreed upon within the framework of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean of ECLAC.

Eligible Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements (WFOM):

Interested Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements may apply if:
- They are registered and operating as civil society organizations for at least three years.
- They are capable of collaborating with various stakeholders.
- They are not currently, and has not previously been, engaged as a programme partner2 of UN Women.
- They have sufficient financial management capacity3 , including implementing appropriate financial policies and procedures to administer the grant.
- Their management staff do not participate in the Board of Directors or the Secretariat of the Regional Fund in Support of Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements. In an effort to expand opportunities and extend support to more civil society organizations, priority will be given to those that have not yet received funding from UN Women, including small grants.
Eligible activities:

Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements (WFOM) can apply for a grant to cover activities related to capacity-building strategies to implement:
- Gender-responsive environmental and/or climate actions
- Actions to prevent and respond to violence against women Organizations may apply for the grant to cover direct costs related to the following eligible activities:
- Category A: Introduce and improve systems, tools, and/or processes within the organization that strengthen institutional capacity to implement actions in one of the thematic areas of the call5 .
- Category B: Strengthen the capacities of the organization’s personnel, particularly in technical and management skills with a gender perspective, including training activities, workshops, mentorships, experience exchanges, or specialized technical assistance.
- Category C: Purchase equipment for the organization, such as photocopiers, scanners, printers, laptops, or desktop computers. For the USD 10,000 funding modality, the maximum amount that may be allocated to equipment is USD 3,000. For the USD 20,000 funding modality, the maximum amount that may be allocated to equipment is USD 5,000.
Note: The proposal must include at least one activity compatible with Category A and at least one activity compatible with Category B.

Women’s and Feminist Organizations and Movements (WFOM) wishing to apply for this call must complete the online application form (click here to access the form) by October 5 at 11:59 p.m., Panama City time (GMT -5). This will be the only means of application, and applications sent by any other means or after the deadline will not be accepted. Therefore, Annexes 1 and 2 should not be submitted as physical or digital documents.
