Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025: Check Application Process and Eligibility Criteria

Introduction: Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025, The UN Women Office in Serbia is inviting civil society organizations (CSOs) registered in Serbia to apply. Eligible organizations must have gender equality, women’s rights, and/or anti-discrimination as one of their statutory goals and demonstrate specialized knowledge, expertise, and a proven track record in promoting gender equality, improving women’s status in the labor market, and fostering their economic empowerment.

Interested organizations are encouraged to review the guidelines and submit their applications by the deadline of March 21, 2025.

Objective (Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025)

Under this Call for Proposals, women’s CSOs will be supported to implement measures contributing to the following specific objective:

To reduce the risk of discrimination and gender-based violence among marginalized groups of women through implementation of tailored economic empowerment measures.

 

Funding Information (Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025)

The budget for this proposal should range between 30,000 and 35,000 USD.

Time Duration

Proposals should span a duration of at least 10 months and no more than 12 months.

Eligible Activities (Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025)

List of types of activity which Responsible Party should undertake under this CFP are:

Community-based initiatives contributing to the economic empowerment of women, especially women from marginalized groups: This may include, but not limited to the following: organization of vocational trainings to acquire skills fostering employment/self-employment (e.g. in sustainable and resilient agriculture, crafts, sewing, waiving etc.); training women in using digital tools for communication, e-commerce, and accessing financial services; providing trainings and mentoring to foster self-employment/support women in business (e.g. small business management, budgeting, and financial management, upgrading digital skills, understanding registration and taxation process, support to improve access to finance); empower women to take on decision-making roles in community and business contexts; support to introducing of innovation in business; provision of equipment and smallscale items; peer-to-peer exchange and knowledge transfer from experienced to the new women entrepreneurs/women willing to become an entrepreneur; support women to form or join associations/cooperatives/social entrepreneurs for better resource sharing and bargaining power.

Increase visibility and awareness in local communities to challenge gender stereotypes and gender-based discrimination, as well as promote women’s economic contributions. This may include, but not limited to the following: deconstruction of gender roles and reduction of stereotypes through raising awareness, providing information, and educating; fostering discussions in the media and public sphere that inspire positive behaviors; organization of events for enhancing visibility of women from marginalized groups and their contribution to society (e.g. conferences, manifestations, exhibition); create platforms for women to share experiences and best practices; affirmation of women in areas such as sport, culture and security; shifting public narratives that particularly target women, through activities that promote positive examples and best practices; foster partnerships between men and women to support shared responsibilities in households and communities; advocating for gendersensitive policies, programmes and budgets to address gender-based discrimination and violence; raising awareness on gender-based stereotypes (e.g. using traditional and social media, as well as different innovative ways of communication to widely disseminate key messages tailored to targeted audiences).

 

Competencies (Grants for Enhancing the position of women in Serbia to decrease risk of discrimination and gender based violence 2025)

 

Technical/functional competencies required

  • Experience in promoting gender equality and/or working on improving the status of vulnerable groups of women in the labour market and their economic empowerment.
  • Proven experience in management of projects related to empowerment of women and/or gender equality.

Language: Serbian; knowledge of English.

  • Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
  • Good knowledge of gender equality and women’s rights issues, as well as needs of vulnerable and multi-discriminated groups of women.
  • Knowledge on Serbian legal, strategic and institutional framework related to gender equality.
  • Previous experience working with United Nations.
