About the role (Financial Officer NGO Job Vacancy for Delhi Apply by 28 February 2025)
The Financial Officer at Aagaaz Theatre Trust will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial health of the organization. This includes ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records, preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Financial Officer will play a key role in supporting Aagaaz Theatre Trust’s mission by providing strategic financial guidance and ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support the artistic and operational goals of the organization. The role will also involve working closely with the Executive Team and stakeholders to drive financial sustainability and transparency, while contributing to the overall growth and development of the Trust.
This is a full-time position, which requires a time commitment of approximately 6 days/40-45 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities (Financial Officer NGO Job Vacancy for Delhi Apply by 28 February 2025)
- As the Finance Officer, the team member’s responsibilities will be including but not limited to –
- Coordination and facilitation of all of Aagaaz’s payments including –
- Paying the monthly salaries, reimbursements and vendor payments
- Maintenance of bills and invoices including reimbursements
- Review of contracts and terms of payment
- Keeping track of leaves, and their reflection on salaries
- Creation and Maintenance of the Financial Monitoring and reporting system by –
- Updating the cash flow sheet and keeping an account of income and expenses, including organisational and program-related funds & budgets
- Updating the quarterly and annual financial statements, and tracking and filing any donation receipts and certificates, bills, and vouchers
- Maintaining cash and accrual basis accounting
- Supporting Aagaaz with Administration and Finances by –
- Supporting the review and updation of the internal financial policy
- Supporting the creation of budget proposals
- Filing and maintaining rent agreements and MoUs
- Providing inputs on the required financial compliances for Aagaaz Theatre Trust pertaining to Section 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act of India
- Applying for FCRA and/or company registration
- Coordinating with banks on behalf of Aagaaz
- Attending and participating in required organizational meetings and trainings, including the core team meetings
- Important Skills for this Role: Individuals applying for this role should have-
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or similar fields.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 5 years in managing financial operations, finance, or accounting roles.
Skills: strong financial acumen, analytical skills, communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, good command over both English & Hindi, working knowledge of Tally-Edit log
Knowledge: Knowledge of TDS, Form 10BE, 10B and 10BB
- Those with experience working with Not for Profit organisations will be given preference.
- Women and other genders, people from historically marginalised castes, and religious minorities will be given preference.
Working Conditions (Financial Officer NGO Job Vacancy for Delhi Apply by 28 February 2025)
- The venue of work and practice will be at the Aagaaz Office in Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi unless specified otherwise.
- A full work week at Aagaaz is 40-45 hours of work, generally either 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM. We work Monday to Saturdays. All 2nd Saturdays are off.
- Salary: Based on qualifications and experience.
