JOB AUTONOMY

The Assistant Program Lead has autonomy to independently manage day-to-day operations of the TARA Outreach Centre, make routine program-related decisions, and supervise staff to ensure smooth and timely delivery of activities. They may propose monthly plans, improvements, and operational adjustments, and are empowered to take immediate action in urgent child safety or operational matters while promptly informing the Head of Family-Based Programs.
PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES

PROGRAM DELIVERY & CHILD WELL-BEING
Ensure high-quality academic, recreational, health, and developmental activities as per centre plans.
Solve day-to-day issues affecting children’s learning, health, or behaviour and escalate complex concerns to HFP.
Maintain a child-friendly, inclusive, and safe environment throughout the centre.
OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Independently manage daily operations at the TOC.
Develop weekly/monthly action plans for the centre and submit to HFP for review.
Coordinate attendance, scheduling, and activity planning with staff.
Ensure all meetings (children, tutors, staff) are conducted regularly and documented.
COMMUNITY COORDINATION & OUTREACH
Support OSWs and Community Mobilizers in community engagement, parent meetings, and awareness sessions.
Represent TARA in selected local-level meetings when delegated.
Maintain positive relations with community members, schools, and local institutions.
CASE MANAGEMENT & FAMILY STRENGTHENING
Supervise OSWs and Community Mobilizers in conducting home visits and follow-ups.
Monitor progress on family cases and escalate complex or high-risk cases to HFP.
Ensure timely documentation of assessments, counselling notes, and follow-up actions.
STAFF SUPERVISION & TEAM COORDINATION
Provide day-to-day supervision, feedback, and coordination for all centre staff.
Lead short daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings.
Identify staff capacity needs and propose training to HFP.
Support induction and onboarding of new staff.
PROGRAM MONITORING, DATA & DOCUMENTATION
Ensure accurate and timely updates on Airtable (attendance, visits, activities, events).
Maintain monthly dashboards and trackers and review them for accuracy.
Identify gaps, trends, and challenges and propose solutions to HFP.
Participate in monitoring visits and quality audits.
HUMAN RESOURCE SUPPORT
Provide recommendations on staffing and roster changes.
Support performance management by sharing observations and documented feedback.
Help maintain a positive and safe work environment.
FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Suggest monthly centre-level budget needs and small operational expenditures.
Ensure compliance with procurement and accounting processes.
Track small expenditures and submit accurate documentation.
RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
Ensure adherence to TARA Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
Identify operational or child protection risks and take immediate preventive action.
Report incidents or policy breaches promptly and support implementation of corrective measures.
PROFILE REQUIRED

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related fields.
Master’s degree preferred.
Training in child protection, community work, or program delivery is an advantage.
EXPERIENCE

3–5 years of experience in child-focused or community-based programs.
