India’s rapidly growing elderly population over the next few decades is poised to present a range of complex challenges—including an increase in chronic illnesses, rising mental health concerns, social isolation, fragmented family structures, economic vulnerability, and significant digital exclusion among senior citizens. Additionally, there is a pressing need for granular, multidisciplinary research on ageing, as well as more comprehensive age-disaggregated data to inform effective policy interventions. In response to these emerging needs, HelpAge India is establishing the Institute of Age Care Research (IAR), envisioned as a center for evidence-based research, knowledge exchange, and advocacy to support and strengthen age-related initiatives.
The Senior Researcher will be a key player in IAR’s multidisciplinary research, responsible for designing and executing original studies that inform national ageing policy and care practices. Working directly under the supervision of the Director, this position will lead primary data collection and analysis while powering research initiatives that shape the Institute’s knowledge base and advocacy efforts.
