Organization / Program Information: Udyogini, a leading NGO of Central India looking a passionate individual to coordinate its CSR project aiming at integrated holistic development and strengthening community institutions (WEGs / Federation/ FPO/ Cooperative) in North East Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Function:

Prepare program strategy for North East region the view to align our program with donor priorities (like CSR, Government and international foundation) for achieving financial sustainability by having both for profit and not for profit interventions.

Manage all operations, field programs, enterprise trainings and social security interventions

Identify, select, establish and grow a potential business idea or a value chain (that is pro-poor, gender sensitive, climate SMART, industry friendly and government supported) into a sustainable social for-profit enterprise.

Lead the team of North East region and provide support in raising resources for Udyogini and its affiliate institutions

Support and contribute towards improvements in system and processes – Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL), Business Development, Human Resource Management and Finance-for achieving higher efficiency in overall operations of state where Udyogini works or will work.

  1. Specific Responsibilities
  2. Program operation and management (40% of time)

Responsible/accountable for the implementation of Udyogini’s operations in North East region

Ensure that the Udyogini’s programs are aligned with its vision and mission and are included in the annual plan of operations and budget.

Design and implement systems and processes to create the strategic and business plan

Create and coordinate the annual plan of operations (APOs) based on targets set in the donor proposals or strategic and business plan.

Guide Team to prepare, in a participatory process, state strategic/ business plans in alignment with the Udyogini strategic /business plan.

Ensure strategic, high quality and equitable programming in the states.

Facilitate the development of multi product program innovations to achieve the vision and mission of Udyogini

Prepare and share a quarterly report to the Reporting Manager on the progress towards achievement of the operational plan and budget

Provide for all operation staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence; bridge national and regional operations and support an open-door policy among all staff

  1. Incubation of For-profit Social enterprises (20% of time)

Identify potential business ideas (with potential to develop into a viable social enterprise) through sub-sector analysis and conduct Value Chain Analysis of the potential business ideas/social enterprise

Preparation of three-year Business plan for the selected Business Idea/social enterprise

Raise grants and investments for the selected Business Idea /social enterprise

Execution of the business plan to enable the social enterprise to achieve Break Even Point

Screening and selection of entrepreneur /business leader and other requisite staff to manage the selected social enterprise

Identify and build an appropriate institutional architecture to establish, grow and manage the social enterprises.

Identify the capacity building/competency needs of the social enterprise team and design & implement the training module to address the gaps

Create enabling environment (robust annual planning & budgeting, identify bottlenecks/barriers and the services to remove them, arrange resources through liasioning and networking) for the social enterprise team so as to achieve Break Even Point in the stipulated time frame

Design MIS for tracking of the performance of the social enterprise and monitor the performance against the Objectively verifiable Indicators

  1. Business Development and Partnership (30% of time)

Lead the programme teamand support the Support Team (SO) in raising resources for Udyogini and its affiliate institutions

– Resource Mobilization (20% of time)

Contribute to research on new donors, donor mapping exercise and make recommendations on funding prospects (crowd /online funding, loan) beyond Udyogini’s traditional donors.

Work closely with the Finance and programme teams to develop proposal budgets.

Coordinate with teams on the planning, development and submission of donor proposals, with CEO/Director- Programme /Director of Business Development.

Work with Programme teams and partners to establish and manage consortium partnerships with similar minded civil society organizations and private sector consultancy firms as appropriate to leverage Udyogini’s chances of success in competitive calls for proposals for proposals and tender bids.

– Donor Management & Reporting (10% time)

Maintain a list of potential donors and their specific funding preferences and deadlines for proposal submission; track progress of proposals, submission dates, amounts, etc.

Support program staff capacity building and strengthening their skills for building and sustaining high quality relationship management with a range of external organizations.

Make representational and/or funding-related visits to donors.

Ensure timely submission of high-quality donor reports to the donor and PST in Delhi;

Ensure quality of all external documents in consultation with Director-Programme

Maintain State Grant Management Information System, logical framework, and project overviews;

  1. Institutional systems and processes (10% of time)

Represent Udyogini internally and externally.

Contribute to strategic program direction through identification of needs, programmatic growth opportunities and identify potential partners.

Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization.

Coordinate with HR/ Admin team for internal training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruiting.

Support and facilitate Lead -MEL and State MEL-Associates to establish easy-to- manage MIS for all our verticals, periodic evaluations, baseline and area assessment to achieve systematic learning’s and documentation with the view to refine our strategy and product development.

Lead State Finance Persons and support Lead- Finance to develop an accounting system that provides the organization with quick access to financial information and enables strategic budgeting (including systems for tracking utilization and over expenditure in a timely way).

Qualification & Experience:

Post-graduate degree in education, social sciences, management or social work.

10-13 years of experience in programme implementation, business strategy & rapid scale expansion in the development/corporate sector with 4-5 years of leadership experience.

Result orientation, effective leadership, strong communication skills, influencing skills, stakeholder management, strong inter-personal skills and ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and levels.

Sensitive to issues of gender equality

Fluency in English and Hindi, spoken and written. Fluency in regional language will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical skills with knowledge of statistical tools are preferred.

Communication skills, written and verbal are desirable

An eye for detail and precision is desirable

Problem solving and an ability to strategic thinking

Value alignment with that of Udyogini and a passion for women empowerment.

Strong computer and digital literacy. Any other computer, digital, data analysis and comprehension is a must.

Willingness to travel extensively across the region

Compensation: INR 9,00,000 to INR 10,00,000 per annum
