The School-Based Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and scaling fundraising initiatives across public, private, and international schools. This role requires strategic planning, strong relationship-building skills, campaign creativity, and hands-on execution to engage students, teachers, school administrators, and parent communities. The role bridges donor cultivation and children & youth engagement, aligning fundraising campaigns with educational values and community impact.

  1. Strategy & Planning:
  • Design an annual school fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s overall resource mobilization goals.
  • Identify and segment schools (Tier I/II/III, boards, fee categories) for targeted approaches.
  • Develop thematic campaigns (e.g., Walkathons, Read-a-thons, Festive Giving Drives, Penny Drives, Bake Sales) tailored for age-appropriate engagement.
  • Collaborate with communication and program teams to align messages with impact narratives.
  1. School Partnership Development:
  • Build and maintain partnerships with school leadership (principals, trustees, coordinators) and parent-teacher associations (PTAs).
  • Conduct outreach presentations to introduce and secure buy-in for fundraising initiatives.
  • Onboard new schools through formal MoUs, and plan fundraising calendars jointly.
  • Nurture long-term relationships to foster repeat participation and sustained giving.
  1. Campaign Execution & Management:
  • Design and execute school-based campaigns, ensuring logistical readiness, promotional content, volunteer training, and material delivery.
  • Facilitate student-led fundraising models and leadership clubs where applicable.
  • Monitor and support schools during campaign periods with hands-on coordination.
  • Organize in-school events such as exhibitions, assemblies, or impact talks to showcase the cause.
  1. Capacity Building & Engagement:
  • Train teachers, students, and volunteers on fundraising principles, campaign tools, and storytelling.
  • Develop toolkits (fundraising ideas, collection tracking sheets, safety guidelines).
  • Encourage school-wide engagement through competitions, awards, and social media shoutouts.
  1. Donor Stewardship & Impact Reporting:
  • Acknowledge and appreciate participating schools and students through certificates, social media, newsletters, or donor visits.
  • Maintain meticulous records of school campaigns, amounts raised, and campaign performance.
  • Generate campaign-specific impact reports tailored for school stakeholders and parents.
  1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
  • Track KPIs: no. of schools engaged, funds raised per campaign, cost per rupee raised, repeat partnerships, student engagement metrics.
