About Center For Social Security Action & Research (Cssar) 2024
The Center for Social Security Action & Research (CSSAR) was established on March 11, 2008, driven by the belief in creating a society where every child has access to quality education, regardless of their social or financial background.
The organization’s founder, Mr. Yogendra Jha, began his career as a lecturer at an inter-college in Deoghar, where he taught for approximately eight years. He later served as an Assistant Director in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ministry of Labour, Government of India, for twelve years.
During his tenure at EPFO, Mr. Jha conducted several studies on social security issues affecting rickshaw pullers, barbers, and bidi rollers. These studies gave him an opportunity to work closely with laborers, particularly rickshaw pullers in Delhi. Deeply moved by their struggles, he began working with them in 2004, helping to form twenty self-help groups for rickshaw pullers and maids. Additionally, he started teaching slum children on weekends, often holding classes in temples and public spaces. This effort continued until 2007.
In 2008, Mr. Jha founded CSSAR and made the bold decision to resign from his job to dedicate himself fully to the organization. Since its inception, CSSAR has been committed to providing education and support to underprivileged children.
Notably, 17 children supported by CSSAR successfully passed their 10th board exams in 2021, a testament to the organization’s impact.
