Role and Responsibilities For Application Open The Period Fellowship 2026-28 Offered By Uninhibited

Working with Government Department:

Capacity building of government healthcare workers to facilitate menstrual health and hygiene in schools

Lead and sustain powerful menstrual health initiatives within government systems while problem solving for challenges.

Training and Facilitation:

Sensitising and training government healthcare workers to create safe spaces in adolescent clinics

Bridging the gaps of healthcare with Hello Saathi:

Ensuring e-health access through Hello Saathi helpline (Hello Saathi is Uninhibited’s e-health service, providing women and girls with access to answers related to menstruation and sexual reproductive health. Additionally, it offers free doctor consultations over the phone.)

Monitoring and Evaluation

Conduct WASH infrastructure and healthcare audits to share feedback to the state

Diligently monitor and evaluate the outcomes and impact of the work.

Cohort building and leadership journey

Build on leadership capacities by reflecting on one’s fellowship’s journey and experiences and documenting learnings.

Building a community with the diverse cohort by seeking and giving support during the fellowship, creating safe spaces for self and the cohort.

Organisation’s culture

Championing Uninhibited’s culture, values and working norms in your role and in relation to other roles in the organisation

Represent organisation’s work in different spaces.

Competencies and eligibility criteria:

Qualification: Having completed graduate studies

Age: Minimum 25 years old

Willingness to relocate to rural regions of Karnataka.(Preference would be given to local candidates from specified regions)

Language Skills:

Proficient in Kannada.

Working knowledge of English is preferred.

Past work experience:

5years of professional/field experience, particularly with marginalised communities which includes 1-2 years of experience with government systems

Commitment: Full-time commitment to The Period Fellowship over 24 months.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Google Suite

Familiarity with remote connectivity tools.(Google Meet, Zoom etc)

Proficiency in laptop and smartphone usage

Have a good understanding of government policies

Excellent documentation skills; ability to analyse and share key insights with the team

Has strong advocacy skills

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Interpersonal Skills:

Exceptional communicator with assertive communication and strong diplomatic skills, adept at collaborating with multiple stakeholders, fostering accountability, and navigating negotiations for positive outcomes.

Demonstrates a healthy approach to conflict resolution, showcasing strong relationship-building skills while effectively managing difficult conversations

Winning attitudes and mindsets:

Passionate about gender equity, women empowerment or menstrual health.

Low ego, collaborative team member

Prioritises their own mental health and self care.

Ability to thrive in ambiguity

Able to receive and give feedback constructively.

An instinctive self-starter and problem solver who can quickly identify opportunities and make the most of them.

Highly organised and resourceful, with an ability to drive focus, clarity and prioritisation.

Logistical Requirements:

Owns a laptop and can connect remotely

Two-wheeler and riding skills for block-level field travel

Brownie points for:

Having ground experience of working with schools and rural/tribal communities.

Having provided direction and managed teams while working on a milestone end to end.

Having awareness about the larger menstrual health context of the world.

Having an understanding of how the menstrual health ecosystem is intersectional and interacts with different aspects of the society.

A full time position placed in one of the districts in Karnataka.

Please note: We would like to know your preferred district of placement during the selection process, however, it will be tough for us to guarantee that you will be placed at the place of preference. We will disclose your location during the signing of the contract.

Remuneration: A monthly stipend of 30,000 INR.

Increment : Stipend increase in the second year contingent on your performance.

Stage I: Submission of resume and application form
Stage II: Telephonic interview
Stage III: Selection Conference (held in person in Karnataka or conducted online), including a Group Discussion and Personal Interview
