Research Grant Opportunity for 2026 Advancing Seagrass Science Policy and Practice for Western Indian Ocean, The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA), in partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), is inviting research proposals focused on enhancing scientific insights and practical understanding of seagrass ecosystems across the Western Indian Ocean (WIO).

A total budget of EUR 300,000 has been allocated for this call. Up to two projects will be selected, with each receiving a maximum grant of EUR 150,000 to support research activities carried out over a period of 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria for Research Grant Opportunity for 2026 Advancing Seagrass Science Policy and Practice for Western Indian Ocean
Applications must be submitted by a consortium comprising institutions from at least two WIOCOR member countries, including Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, or Tanzania.
