To serve as the primary point of contact for children and families, ensuring their safety, well-being, and holistic development through child-centred case management, family strengthening interventions, and meaningful community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for NGO Job in Delhi for Family Welfare Officer Apply By 3 May 2026
CHILD-CENTRIC SUPPORT & PROTECTION
? Build trusting, supportive relationships with children, ensuring their emotional and physical safety in the centre.
? Monitor children’s participation, behaviour, and well-being and provide immediate support or counselling when required.
? Identify early signs of risks such as abuse, neglect, substance use, or family distress and escalate concerns to the APL promptly.
? Ensure full compliance with the Child Protection Policy (CPP) and TARA Code of Conduct at all times.
? Support children in accessing educational, health, and psychosocial services as per their needs.
? Report all major health and well-being concerns related to any child to the APL immediately.
FAMILY STRENGTHENING & CASE MANAGEMENT
? Conduct regular home visits to assess family circumstances, risks, strengths, and support needs.
? Develop and update individual needs assessments and intervention plans for each child and family.
? Provide structured support and follow-up with families on issues such as parenting, health, education, safety, and crisis management.
? Facilitate access to entitlements, government schemes, social benefits, and external services for family empowerment.
? Respond to family crises with empathy and professionalism, offering basic counselling and linking families to additional support when required.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT
? Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and institutions to ensure ongoing participation in TOC activities.
? Conduct awareness sessions and workshops on child protection, health, substance abuse, gender-based violence, and other relevant issues.
? Collaborate with community organizations, NGOs, and service providers to strengthen support networks for children and families.
? Support the Community Mobilizer in outreach activities and planning community events.
CENTRE-LEVEL SUPPORT & COLLABORATION
? Coordinate closely with the APL and team to ensure smooth functioning of the centre.
? Ensure that the centre remains a safe, engaging, and child-friendly environment throughout the day.
? Support daily operational tasks such as monitoring activities, ensuring attendance, and ensuring children’s basic needs are met.
? Report maintenance or safety issues to the APL and follow up on timely resolution.
DOCUMENTATION, DATA MANAGEMENT & REPORTING
? Prepare needs assessments, intervention plans, and case notes for each beneficiary.
? Update Airtable regularly with attendance, home visit records, case information, and follow-up actions.
? Ensure that all data is complete, accurate, and updated in a timely manner for monitoring and evaluation.
? Submit weekly and monthly reports to the APL and highlight concerns, achievements, and trends.
SUPERVISION & TEAM SUPPORT
? Provide guidance and support to the Community Mobilizer, Teachers, and Nanny in relation to child behaviour, family communication, and centre rules.
? Conduct one-on-one check-ins with direct reports and document issues for follow-up with the APL.
? Model professional and child-friendly behaviour with all beneficiaries and team members.
? Assist the APL in conducting meetings, mentoring sessions, and team capacity-building activities.
TRAINING & AWARENESS SESSIONS
? Plan and deliver workshops for children, adolescents, and caregivers in coordination with the APL.
? Regularly review the effectiveness of sessions and activities and provide feedback to strengthen program quality.
? Participate in internal and external training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLIANCE
? Ensure adherence to basic accounting and procurement procedures when handling centre resources.
? Provide accurate financial information to the APL for budget monitoring.
? Ensure responsible use of program materials and centre resources.
PROFILE REQUIRED for NGO Job in Delhi for Family Welfare Officer Apply By 3 May 2026
EDUCATION
? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related fields.
? Training in first aid, counselling, or child protection is highly desirable.
CORE SKILLS
? Strong child-centred and family-focused practice.
? Ability to conduct home visits, assessments, and structured family follow-ups.
? Crisis intervention and basic counselling skills.
? Knowledge of entitlements, schemes, and community resources.
