Key Roles and Responsibilities

Depending on the programme area assigned, Fellows may undertake the following responsibilities:

• Provide legal aid, counselling, and representation to migrant workers and displaced communities across India.
• Conduct awareness sessions, trainings, and community meetings to educate individuals about their legal rights and available remedies.
• Support the establishment and operation of community legal desks in identified settlements, assisting vulnerable individuals with legal and social protection services.
• Conduct trauma-informed interviews with clients to understand their protection needs, prepare legal documentation, and provide case-related assistance.
• Contribute to research, policy development, and advocacy initiatives focused on migration, displacement, and human rights.
• Strengthen MAP’s grassroots networks by collaborating with Paralegal Volunteers, NGOs, community leaders, and local organisations to improve community outreach and support mechanisms.
