About the Organization
The Young Tinker Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering “Skill Consciousness” and promoting hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education among high school students across India. The foundation encourages young learners to think creatively, identify real-world problems, and develop practical solutions through ideation, prototyping, and innovation.
Through its flagship initiatives, Young TinkerSpace (YTS) and Tinker on Wheels (ToW), the organization has made a significant impact, reaching more than 270,000 students nationwide. These programmes are designed to provide experiential learning opportunities that help students develop essential skills for the future.
Recognizing the growing need for problem solvers and innovators, particularly in underserved and rural communities, the Young Tinker Foundation focuses on equipping students with critical thinking abilities, technical skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. By nurturing creativity and innovation at an early stage, the organization aims to empower the next generation of changemakers who can address pressing global challenges, create employment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Why Choose the Young Tinker Fellowship?
The Young Tinker Fellowship offers much more than a conventional academic programme—it is an opportunity to create meaningful impact while learning through real-world experiences.
- Experience Learning Beyond the Classroom: The fellowship places you directly in marginalised schools across urban and rural India, where you can work closely with students and communities, gaining hands-on experience that traditional classrooms cannot provide.
- Develop Entrepreneurial and Problem-Solving Skills: India needs young leaders who understand grassroots challenges and can develop innovative solutions. This fellowship equips you with the entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills needed to drive social change.
- Create Impact at Scale: As a Fellow, you will help expand Young Tinker Foundation’s innovative programmes—Tinker on Wheels (ToW) and Young TinkerSpace (YTS)—bringing hands-on STEM education and problem-solving pedagogy to thousands of schools and millions of students across India and beyond.
- More Than a Traditional Degree: Unlike a conventional master’s programme, the Young Tinker Fellowship combines leadership development, innovation, social impact, and field experience, preparing you to become a changemaker who can make a lasting difference in society.
The fellowship is designed for individuals who want to learn by doing, lead with purpose, and contribute to building a more innovative and equitable future.
