Arts Platforms support collaborative spaces where artists from different regions, disciplines, and generations can connect, exchange knowledge, experiment, and develop new ideas. These platforms help build creative networks, resilient art communities, and inclusive artistic ecosystems while encouraging innovation, dialogue, and collective action.

Under the Arts Practice programme, proposals may include workshops, residencies, artists’ gatherings, and physical, online, or hybrid platforms that bring artists together to foster collaboration, creativity, knowledge exchange, and the long-term sustainability of their practices.

Who can Apply?

Proposals are invited from practitioners working within or across disciplines, including:

• Performing artists working in music, sound, text, dance, movement, theatre, puppetry, storytelling, magic, circus, and other performance arts.
• Visual artists working across film, animation, photography, installation, new media, creative coding, AI, robotics, interactive arts, gaming/concept art, painting, sculpture, printmaking, comics, graphic narratives, artist books, and other visual arts.
• Curators, particularly those working outside traditional gallery contexts.
• Poets, novelists, fiction writers, playwrights, screenwriters, comics writers, game writers, and creative nonfiction writers.
• Practitioners engaged in interdisciplinary work.

Submission Guidelines

Proposals may be submitted in any Indian language, including English, with IFA encouraging applications in Indian languages other than English.

Applications should include:

• Details of your existing arts practice, interests, and concerns.
• Motivation for developing the Arts Platform.
• Details of the proposed platform, including its purpose, partners, collaborators, network, space, place, or location.
• Detailed activity timeline.
• Detailed budget.
• Relevant examples of previous work.
• CV with current postal address, phone number, and email ID.
• Final applications should be sent in a single email to John Xaviers, Programme Officer, Arts Practice, at john@indiaifa.org, with the subject line “Project Proposal for Arts Platforms (Arts Practice)”.

Eligibility

• Only Indian nationals can apply; PIO and OCI card holders are not eligible.
• Applicants must have a PAN card and valid proof of Indian citizenship.
• Only individuals can apply; organisations are not eligible.
• All project collaborators must also be Indian nationals.
• Applicants with unresolved financial or deliverable issues with IFA, or those previously barred from applying, are not eligible.
• Individuals currently working on an IFA-implemented project cannot apply.
• Multiple individuals may apply jointly if they have a joint account; otherwise, one person must apply as the primary applicant.

Selection Process

Shortlisted proposals will be assessed by an external panel, and applicants will be invited to present their project ideas. All selected projects will be implemented by IFA.
