Akikaran Fellowship 2026 Apply Now, The Akikaran Fellowship is NEAID’s flagship two-year leadership development programme, designed to equip early-career professionals to strengthen Assam’s most under-resourced schools. Fellows serve as full-time School Associates, working directly within government schools to support students, teachers, school leaders, parents, and local communities—helping to transform the school ecosystem from the ground up.

Supported by the programme team, Fellows collaborate with multiple stakeholders and gain practical, hands-on experience through initiatives such as teacher training sessions, learning circles, parent engagement activities, and School Management Committee meetings. This immersive field experience enables Fellows to build a deep understanding of grassroots education challenges and co-create context-specific, workable solutions alongside the Project Management Unit—helping advance access, equity, and improved learning outcomes for children.

Beyond driving school-level change, the Fellowship is deeply committed to developing future leaders in education. Fellows cultivate essential skills, values, and mindsets while becoming part of a growing cadre of socially conscious professionals dedicated to long-term systems improvement.
