About the LGT Impact Fellowship
The LGT Impact Fellowship is an integral part of the broader efforts by LGT Venture Philanthropy and Lightrock to scale positive social and environmental impact. The program provides portfolio organizations with additional expertise and capacity by placing experienced professionals within their teams for a full year.
Each year, a select group of professionals is nominated to work full-time with organizations across Latin America, Africa, India, and Europe. Fellows contribute to a wide range of strategic projects, share their expertise, and help strengthen organizational capabilities.
Compensation packages cover local living costs—including health insurance, travel, and a one-week in-person kick-off workshop. Remuneration varies depending on geography, sector, and organizational type.
Since its launch in 2009, 225 professionals representing over 30 countries have joined the Fellowship to create meaningful impact around the world. Learn more on our website.

For the 2026 cohort, LGT Venture Philanthropy is seeking mid-career business professionals for 25 diverse roles in areas such as:

Roles are based across various African countries, India, and the United States.
About the Fellows
The Fellowship is a proven launchpad for individuals seeking to transition into—or advance within—the social entrepreneurship and impact investing sectors. Participants gain exceptional professional and personal development through hands-on experience in complex, unfamiliar environments at leading social organizations, primarily in emerging markets.

Education and Professional Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree (MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum of two years of full-time post-university work experience
Required Skills and Qualities
- Fluency in English (additional regional languages may be required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and research abilities
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently
- Strong commitment to making a difference and willingness to make financial concessions
- Awareness of challenges and trends in low- to middle-income countries
- Cultural sensitivity and willingness to engage with local communities
- Flexibility, open-mindedness, and comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments
Beyond the Fellowship
Most alumni continue their careers in roles where they can drive positive impact:
- 71% in the social sector
- 23% in the private sector
- 6% in the public sector
A large majority (78%) consider the Fellowship an important career step toward more meaningful work, and 96% would recommend the program.
Alumni have joined organizations such as the World Bank, CDC, responsAbility, WHO, Dalberg, CAF Venturesome, Pacific AgriCapital, and the Clinton Health Initiative. Others have launched their own ventures, including Impact Amplifier (Sub-Saharan Africa) and LoveDoctor (India). Some have continued their journey by joining the LGT Venture Philanthropy team.
