Apply for India’s First Fellowship on Animal Protection & Advocacy 2025, Offered by PFA Uttarakhand, The AHIMSA Fellowship is a transformative opportunity in the animal protection movement, acting as a force-multiplier for impactful change. Eligibility Criteria (Apply for India’s First Fellowship on Animal Protection & Advocacy AHIMSA 2025)

  • Graduation degree in any discipline
  • Good communication skills [English and a regional language (desirable)]
  • Between 21 and 39 years old as on 31 December 2025
  • Be available to attend the entire 8-month duration of the Fellowship programme

STAGE 1 – Application Form

On the Fellowship dashboard, visit Fellowship Registration that has 5 sub-sections and beginning with the Personal Information section.

You need to ‘Update’ each section to save your progress. Please note that you cannot fill a section partially to save your progress.

Once you have completed filling the entire form, you need to lock your form and submit it for it to be considered for evaluation.

STAGE 2 – Personal Interview

The Fellowship Dashboard will update for applicants who clear Stage 1 and they will be invited for a virtual interview.

STAGE 3 – Online Assessment

Details about the online assessment will be provided to candidates who clear the interview.

STAGE 4 – Panel Interview

If you perform well in the assessment, you’ll proceed to the final stage: a panel interview.

Candidates who successfully pass Stage 4 will secure a spot in Cohort 5 (2025–26) of the Ahimsa Fellowship once all documentation formalities are finalised.

  • Comprehensive curriculum covering pertinent animal welfare issues, especially farmed animal protection.

  • Experiential learning through residential contact classes, planned projects, field work activities etc.

Capacity Building and Leadership Training:

  • Training on organisational structures of bureaucracy and protocols for interacting with government authorities.
  • Advanced soft skills & communication training.
  • Training to manage independent campaigns and fundraise.
  • Values-based leadership that emphasises on aligning core belief systems with professional growth.
  • Peer learning opportunities.

National Network for Animal Protection Advocacy:

  • Building a network of dedicated leaders situated across India who are motivated by the collective goal of combating animal suffering through effective policy advocacy, public awareness and movement-building
  • Placement Opportunities with Animal Protection Organisations:
  • For the duration of the Fellowship, a monthly stipend will be offered to each Fellow. The stipend is provided to cover cost of expenses required for the execution of projects and milestones.
  • At the end of the Fellowship, Fellows may be recommended to Animal Protection Organisations across India.
  • Selected promising projects will also seed grants and incubation support through the Ahimsa Fellowship Incubation Cell.
