Introduction: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is looking for a Research Fellow to join its Research Department (RES) and contribute to advancing economic and development research across Latin America and the Caribbean. As a Research Fellow, you will play a key role in preparing research papers, conducting econometric analysis, organizing data, and developing policy reports across critical areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, and development. - Support the preparation of research papers, reports, and presentations
- Identify, compile, and maintain large economic datasets
- Perform econometric and statistical analyses using tools like Stata, MATLAB, R, or Python
- Conduct literature reviews and support field experiments
- Engage in discussions on economic and policy research
- Assist in project management and administrative tasks
Eligibility: Required Qualifications (Research Fellow Opportunity 2025 Offered by IDB)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics (Master’s preferred) with a strong quantitative background
Experience: At least two years of experience in applied research, econometrics, and statistical analysis
Technical Skills: Experience with econometric modeling, programming (Python, R, MATLAB, Stata), and data analysis
Languages: Proficiency in English and one of IDB’s official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese)
Other: Interest in policy research, economic development, and regional economies in Latin America and the Caribbean
