Introduction: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is looking for a Research Fellow to join its Research Department (RES) and contribute to advancing economic and development research across Latin America and the Caribbean. As a Research Fellow, you will play a key role in preparing research papers, conducting econometric analysis, organizing data, and developing policy reports across critical areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, and development. What are the Responsibilities? (Research Fellow Opportunity 2025 Offered by IDB)
- Support the preparation of research papers, reports, and presentations
- Identify, compile, and maintain large economic datasets
- Perform econometric and statistical analyses using tools like Stata, MATLAB, R, or Python
- Conduct literature reviews and support field experiments
- Engage in discussions on economic and policy research
- Assist in project management and administrative tasks
Eligibility: Required Qualifications (Research Fellow Opportunity 2025 Offered by IDB)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics (Master’s preferred) with a strong quantitative background
Experience: At least two years of experience in applied research, econometrics, and statistical analysis
Technical Skills: Experience with econometric modeling, programming (Python, R, MATLAB, Stata), and data analysis
Languages: Proficiency in English and one of IDB’s official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese)
Other: Interest in policy research, economic development, and regional economies in Latin America and the Caribbean
