Organized by Equal Measures 2030 (EM2030), this fellowship empowers participants with the skills to transform gender data into impactful narratives that drive policy change, activism, and social progress.

Why Storytelling with Data? (Storytelling with Data Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded)

Feminist movements and advocates have led the charge in challenging inequalities, pushing for policy reforms, and holding leaders accountable. However, access to reliable and actionable gender data remains a barrier.

When used effectively, gender data strengthens advocacy, provides concrete evidence for policy change, and amplifies feminist narratives. This fellowship bridges the gap between data, storytelling, and activism, equipping feminist advocates with the skills and resources needed to seamlessly integrate gender data into their work and drive meaningful change.

Fellowship Objectives (Storytelling with Data Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded)

• The Storytelling with Data Fellowship aims to:
• Transform gender data into impactful stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Enhance the visibility and influence of the SDG Gender Index through engaging storytelling formats.
• Equip feminist advocates with data storytelling skills to influence policy and advocacy efforts.
• Produce high-quality multimedia outputs, including blogs, videos, podcasts, infographics, and social media content.
• Foster a global network of feminist storytellers who will continue using data-driven narratives for advocacy.

Fellowship Structure (Storytelling with Data Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded)

This six-month fellowship requires a commitment of 120–180 hours and is designed around four key phases:

Onboarding (April 1, 2025)

Introduction to the 2024 SDG Gender Index

Identification of regional gender data stories

Mentorship & Training (April – May 2025)

Hands-on workshops on narrative building, data visualization, and audience engagement

Storytelling Production (June – August 2025)

Development of blogs, videos, infographics, podcasts, and interactive media

Dissemination & Amplification (September 2025)

Publishing and promotion of storytelling outputs through EM2030 platforms, advocacy reports, and global campaigns

Who Can Apply? (Storytelling with Data Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded)

The fellowship is open to:

• Feminist storytellers, journalists, and data advocates from Latin America & the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa (two fellows per region).
• Grassroots feminist organizations integrating storytelling into advocacy efforts.
• Gender equality influencers with a strong commitment to using data for activism.
• Each fellow will produce two storytelling pieces in a format of their choice, such as:
• Blogs and articles
• Infographics and data visualizations
• Videos, podcasts, and interactive content
• Social media campaigns and creative digital storytelling

Collaboration is at the heart of this fellowship, empowering participants to co-create projects across regions and shed light on shared gender challenges at a global level.

Stipend and Support (Storytelling with Data Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded)

• Each fellow will receive a $500 stipend, paid in two installments:
• 50 percent after onboarding
• 50 percent upon successful submission of final storytelling outputs
• The stipend is intended to cover costs related to the production of storytelling pieces, including tools, software, and other creative expenses.
