Water Conservation & Stewardship – Initiatives that take place on golf courses or other turf and ornamental landscapes aimed at improving or modifying maintenance practices to lower water consumption or enhance water quality.
Habitat Conservation & Stewardship – Projects carried out on golf courses or turf and ornamental properties that adapt maintenance approaches to support and protect native ecosystems and biodiversity.
Water Education – Programs designed to raise awareness within communities about water-related challenges, current efforts, and the future outlook of water use and availability in the golf and professional turf and ornamental industry.

As a private organization, the foundation’s Grant Committee decides where funding will generate the greatest impact. This committee consists of Aquatrols employees along with experts from the industry. The following points outline the key criteria used when evaluating applications:
We Support Projects That:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to reducing the ecological footprint of golf courses or professional turf and ornamental properties.
- Push the boundaries of traditional maintenance practices within the golf and professional turf and ornamental industry.
- Provide meaningful benefits to the surrounding local community.
- Contribute to the protection and preservation of existing natural resources.
Requirements for Successful Applicants:
- Present a clear and well-defined strategy.
- Outline measurable goals and objectives that can be used to assess the project’s success.
We Do Not Fund:
- Applications that fall outside our three primary focus areas, including but not limited to clean drinking water initiatives, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, alternative energy projects, agriculture, or agroforestry.
- Requests for expanding general operating costs or capital improvements.
- Event sponsorships or promotional materials.
- Political campaigns.
- Research projects.
- Individual applicants.
- Capital expenditures.
