Background
(Applications are now open for Regional Funds Grant Australia 2025 by Queensland Community Foundation)
Queensland Gives has an annual regional grant making program which currently takes in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Northern Queensland regions.
Funding for this program is made available from the relevant regional sub-funds and QCF’s General Fund.
Applications from charitable organisations providing local service delivery in areas such as aged care, family support, children, health and welfare, youth and arts and which have the following characteristics are favoured:
- One-off projects for a specific purpose
- Demonstrate sustainability beyond the funding period
- Strengthen the community
- Reduce social disadvantage
- Help find solutions to community problems
- Benefit as many people as possible
Queensland Gives prefers to fund whole projects rather than making a small contribution to a large project. Part funding will be considered where applicants can demonstrate access to co-funding.
Areas impacted in each Regional Fund
Northern Queensland
Northern Queensland – from Mackay North and West, Mount Isa, Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday
Far North Queensland – Cairns, Cape York Peninsula and Gulf region

No grant will be considered retrospectively, i.e. projects must not commence prior to the anticipated notification date.
On completion of the project, organisations must provide an acquittal including an expenditure statement and demonstrate the value/impact of the grant. Failure to return the accountability documents is recorded and may jeopardise future funding opportunities.
Applicants will receive written notification of the outcome via email by May 2024
