Apply for Grants by WFP for Enhancing access to basic social services and community resilience to the impacts of climate change and natural hazards in Myanmar, The World Food Programme (WFP) has launched the Asset Creation and Livelihoods Program to enhance access to basic social services and community resilience to the impacts of climate change and natural hazards in Myanmar.
WFP is inviting proposals from qualified and eligible organizations to implement the activities under its targeted operational areas. Proposed activities should aim to contribute to improvement of community resilience and enhance livelihood by creation or rehabilitation of assets, to increase food security and mitigate climate change and disaster related risks.
The activities need to address the alarming decline in agricultural production due to increased frequency and intensity of natural hazards and/or climate change impacts resulting in severe losses of incomes, higher levels of food insecurity, and poor living conditions in the most vulnerable people from the recommended townships with high food insecurity status and the major impact affected by the Earthquake in March 2025 in the nine States/ Regions: Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan, Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay, and Nay Pyi Taw.

- Adverse impacts of economic disruptions, gender inequality, and shocks on the welfare and livelihood of vulnerable people are eased.
- Food insecure women and men receive cash or food transfers to meet the basic food and nutrition needs of their households through asset creation activities.
- Community members benefit from creation and rehabilitation of assets in order to improve resilience against climate change impacts and disaster-related risks and to enhance livelihoods.
- Community members receive complementary training on proposed activities such as rural infrastructure, post- harvest loss management, environmental management, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, nursery development, etc.
- Smallholder farmers receive technical advisory services such as sustainable climate-smart agriculture practices, improved adaption of agroforestry practices in high deforestation areas, climate smart agriculture training for women farmers, etc. to help them adapt to the impacts of climate changes and/or climate-induced hazards.
- Community members benefit from health and nutrition education to improve nutrition knowledge
- Improved financial literacy of community members to manage their household income effectively.
