The primary objectives of this engagement are:
To sensitize parliamentarians and government authorities on the negative implications of regressive legal provisions concerning child marriage and other child protection issues.
To foster collaboration and build a unified advocacy voice among media, civil society organizations, and child protection actors on current or proposed legal provisions concerning child marriage and child protection.
To draft legal amendment proposals and provide expert technical assistance to parliamentary committees.

The selected NGO will be responsible for carrying out a range of advocacy and technical support activities that include, but are not limited to:
Conducting a comprehensive desk analysis of evidence on early marriage and age-mate relationships, drawing from global practices and contextual realities in Nepal.
Organizing interactive discussion programs with key stakeholders such as parliamentarians, varies government authorities, media, and civil society representatives on legal provision concerning child protection specifically child marriage.
Facilitating workshops with parliamentarians to deepen understanding and build consensus on child protection laws reforms specifically related to child marriage.
Providing technical support to Parliamentary Committees on amendments of Criminal Code, Act Relating to Children and other Child Protection agenda.
Drafting legal recommendations with clear suggested language on the proposed Criminal Code amendment.

Eligibility Criteria (Apply for Grants for Advocacy on Child Marriage related Legal Amendment and other Child Protection Legal Frameworks 2025 in Nepal)
To be eligible following criteria is applicable:
NGO with proven track record in child rights advocacy especially with focus on child protection and gender; and legal reform, or human rights programming.
Demonstrated capacity to conduct legal research and facilitate policy dialogues.
Prior engagement with legislative bodies, including parliamentarians and parliamentary committees.
Strong network with parliamentarians, media, government stakeholders and civil society organizations.
Capacity to provide technical support to legislative bodies.
