Letters of Interest (LOI) Invited for Disability Rights Fund Grant Opportunity 2026, Since 2008, the Disability Rights Fund has been dedicated to supporting grassroots, national, and regional organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs). We strongly believe that an inclusive and impactful disability rights movement must reflect the full diversity of the communities it serves.
As part of our new strategic vision, Disability-Led Futures for a Just World, we are prioritizing intersectional approaches. We particularly encourage applications from activists and organizations working at the intersection of disability rights and key thematic areas such as gender equality, LGBTQI+ inclusion, economic empowerment, climate action, racial justice, youth engagement, and Indigenous rights.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all organizations that participated in the 2025 grant cycle—our first open call covering Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. The response was overwhelming, with nearly 2,000 Letters of Interest submitted. From these, we were able to award over 150 grants to support disability rights initiatives at local, national, and regional levels through 2026.
For the 2026 funding cycle, most grants will be valued at under $50,000 and will typically support project activities for a duration of 12 months.

2026 Grant Round
Our next open call for Letters of Interest from Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in sub-Saharan Africa, South- and South-East Asia, and Pacific Island Countries will open at the end of May 2026. The deadlines for our annual grantmaking round are as follows:
- Our portal will open for submissions of Letters of Interest (LOIs): Saturday, 30 May 2026
- Deadline for Submitting Letters of Interest: Sunday, 21 June 2026 at 23:59 ET (Eastern Daylight Savings Time)
- Invitations for successful Letters of Interest: Tuesday, 28 July 2026
- Deadline for submitting full applications (invited organizations only): Sunday, 23 August 2026
- Final grantmaking decisions made: December 2026
- Successful projects start: 1 January 2027
