MLSE Foundation invites applications for its Community Action Grant 2025 Canada, The MLSE Foundation provides funding to Ontario-based organizations that use sport and recreation to promote equity and inclusion. Through the Community Action Grant, the foundation offers up to $50,000 in support to initiatives that create meaningful, positive change for youth and help build a more equitable future.

WHO WE FUND

Governed by the Income Tax Act, MLSE Foundation is only able to grant funds to organizations that are classified as a Qualified Donee by the Canadian Revenue Agency as follows:
○ a registered charity
○ a registered Ontario amateur athletic association
○ a registered housing corporation in Ontario
○ a registered Ontario municipality
○ Metis, Inuit or First Nation community/Band
Organizations that do NOT have Qualified Donee status are still eligible to apply in partnership with a Trustee Organization who has Qualified Donee Status. Schedule a call with MLSE Foundation staff to review your options
○ Organizations performing services in Ontario
MLSE Foundation prioritizes the following demographics:

○ Black youth
○ First Nations, Inuit, and Metis youth
○ Women & Girl – identified youth (in the case of gender specific programming)
How to apply?
Step 1:
Check if your organization is eligible. Then register and create an Organization Profile in the Online Portal.
- If you’ve applied before, use your existing login and go straight to the Expression of Interest
Step 2:
After your organization is approved (within 1–2 days), fill out the short Expression of Interest form available in your portal.
- Read the Grant Guidelines first — they explain how applications are reviewed.
Step 3:
All Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by a Selection Circle, which will shortlist top applicants.
- Details on how applications are evaluated can be found in the Grant Guidelines 2025–2026.
- If you’re not shortlisted, you can request feedback in June 2026 to improve your future application.
Step 4:
Shortlisted organizations will be invited to submit a Full Application in the Online Portal.
Step 5:
The Selection Circle will review all Full Applications.
- If your organization is not selected, you can schedule a feedback call to discuss the reviewers’ comments.
